To Fall & Beyond

Summer is in full heat and planning for Fall Peak season has begun here at Optima.

Oh how I remember Fall Peak season while working on the production floor. Basically during the Peak season we would not move much from our work areas. You really got to know your fellow co-worker. Most of the time that was good but sometimes. Wow.

Most of those days would start early in the morning (dark) and end late at night (dark). Dark as in the time I was at work was so long I did not see the sun…Dark…get it?

Today I took a little time to check out what we are doing to get ready for the Fall Peak season.

- Additional Account & Tech Support Representatives will be added to increase our customer service.

- Digital Imaging & Tech Support are cross training to help broaden skills in both departments. And Digital Imaging is adding staff to later shifts to improve output to production.

- To make our order process more customer centric we are redesigning the layout & other information on the order verification.

- Sales is concentrating on learning what is relevant to our customers and delivering Value Based Selling. Also, a National Account Executive will be joining our sales force.

I’m sure there is more in the works and when I hear about it I will let you know. Stay tuned.

A cool thing is happening this month (March) in our Newsletter. Our guest contributor, Tim Patterson, has penned a great article on “Renting or Buying when it comes to Tradeshow Exhibits”. You may know Tim from such blogs as TradeShowGuyBlog. Or such Twitter handles as Tradeshowguy.

Recently I attended a webinar Tim was involved in titled “How to use Social Media to close more business at Tradeshows”. It was a very helpful webinar. The offer of a marketing bundle was made through the webinar and that is full of useful material on the subject of Social Media. It will be in my arsenal for some time.

We have some great things available and others coming soon. Check out the list below.

• Generic Product Catalog - A mini catalog that shows all of our products without Optima branding. You can also print from our website at: http://www.optimagfx.com/product.aspx
• Xpressions Trifold brochure – One brochure that covers all xpressions snap, xpress and their product information. The printed pieces will be available by January 2010 but you can print from our website at: http://www.optimagfx.com/experts/brochures3.aspx
• Infinity samples – We have 20″ x 20″ Infinity samples available with SEG for demo or purchase. These are a great example of the products and easy to travel with.
• Visproducts website – Before the end of 1st quarter 2010 the Visproducts site will be revamped and you will like what you see. We have listened to your comments and suggestions and good things they are a comin’.
• Price Book (print and online) – Like the Visproducts website the Price Book is getting a complete overhaul. We are rebuilding the engine, upgrading the interior and slapping on a new skin of paint. Based on customer comments we have restructured 2o years of content.

Strider Packs. Walk This Way! (part 2)

While I Was Out.

So, I left my office for a few minutes. When I returned I saw the following on my desk. (see below). Yeah, I was surprised too to see that we can produce InStep carpet graphics in this way. I have 8×8 square samples available if you want to order some from your Account Representative. The samples I have are not cut to feet shape but apparently any shape is possible. So, let your mind wander amd create cool shapes with this product.
